Sony is pleased to announce the introduction of the new PMW-350 XDCAM® EX
Camcorder.
This new camcorder further extends the award-winning XDCAM EX product family
of professional
Solid State Recording acquisition tools with its new shoulder mount design,
capturing stunningly
high-quality images with high sensitivity and high signal to noise ratio using
our new 2/3”-type
Exmor™ full-HD CMOS sensors. The PMW-350 inherits all of the advanced
creative recording
features of the successful PMW-EX1 and PMW-EX3 camcorders, and also offers several
additional
enhancements such as fourchannel audio and cache recording to name just a few.
The PMW-350 supports multiple frame rate recording such as 59.94i, 50i, and
native 23.98P and
25P as well as being 1080i/720P switchable. There is also a choice of a 35Mb/s
high quality mode,
25Mb/s HDV 1080i compatible mode and optional 25Mb/s Standard Definition DVCAM™
recording (using the optional CBK-DV01 SD Recording and Playback hardware key).
Twin memory
card slots support up to 280 minutes HD recording time using two 32GB SxS memory
cards.
Based on the proven XDCAM HD 422 chassis, the PMW-350 weighs just 7.05 pounds
and is
one of the lightest shoulder camcorders in its class. Its low center of gravity
ensures outstanding
on-shoulder stability, while its low profile provides an unobstructed view to
the right hand side
of the camera operator. Also, due to its energy saving design, the PMW-350 realizes
exceptionally low power consumption and environmentally friendly operation,
emitting less CO2
and using approximately 60% less power than a conventional Sony HD shoulder
camcorder.
The PMW-350 will be offered in two model configurations. The PMW-350K comes
equipped with
a Fujinon 16x8 zoom lens, while the PMW-350L is offered without any lens at
all. Both models have
a standard 2/3”-type bayonet lens mount, allowing the user to use any
of the various compatible 2/3”
HD lenses available from their choice of suppliers.
This exciting new addition to Sony’s XDCAM EX family of professional tapeless
acquisition tools
further evolves the XDCAM EX lineup, and continues to address the ever increasing
demand for
affordable, high definition, production solutions.

giving it the ability to record and play standard definition DVCAM footage.

versatility for specific projects that require SD acquisition.

The SBAC-US10 USB Reader/Writer supports those with PCs not equipped with the
Express Card slot. The SBAC-US10 can be connected to a Windows PC or a
Macintosh via USB interface. Since this connection is made as "Mass Storage
Class", no special driver installation is required. DC power must be
provided using the supplied AC adaptor.

Sony “SxS-1” was developed to meet demands for an affordable solution
to SxS PRO memory cards. The SxS-1 memory card maintains the same
shooting capability as SxS PRO as well as high performance and
reliability for professional use. The only differentiation between
the SxS-1 and SxS Pro Memory card is the reduced number of read/write
cycles. In order to keep track of the SxS-1 remaining usage, Sony has
equipped the latest PMW-EX1R and PMW-350 camcorders with a “media
life indicator” which is shown on the camcorder display.
The SxS-1 memory card will initially be compatible with only the new
XDCAM EX camcorder models PMW-EX1R, PMW-350L and PMW-350K. In the
case of PMW-EX1/EX3/10MD, an end user firmware upgrade, scheduled
for release in the Spring of 2010, will be required and can be
downloaded from the Sony Pro Media website when available. Users
that own an PMW-EX30 must send their deck to a Sony Service center
to complete the required firmware updates

The PMW-EX30 deck is a highly versatile and affordable compact
recording deck,and can be used for many different applications.
It allows simple viewing of recorded materials with a monitor,
dubbing to other format/media such as HDV™, XDCAM HD and HDCAM™,
and feeding to nonlinear editing systems. In addition, the PMW-EX30
deck can be used as an affordable full HD recorder for event recordings
– it can record HD signal outputs from a switcher. The PMW-EX30 deck
is equipped with a wide array of interfaces including HD-SDI input and
output, HDMI output, HD analog component, composite outputs and more.
Equipped with two SxS PRO memory card slots, the PMW-EX30 deck can
record up to 140 minutes of HD footage using two 16-GB SxS PRO memory
cards (in SP mode). The recording time can be further extended up
