Via a simple i.LINK connection, the HVR-DR60 Hard Disk Recording Unit
developed by
Sony allows recording of HDV1080i stream from an HDV camcorder, or DV stream
from a
DVCAM camcorder.
Extend Recording Capability
The 1.8-inch internal HDD offers a large capacity of 60GB, which translates
into an impressive
approx.270 minutes (4.5 hours) for both HDV and DVCAM recordings.
Hybrid Recording
The HVR-DR60 is designed to be totally integrated with the new HVR-V1U camcorder.
When used
together the HVR-V1U, has a special status check option, which delivers current
status, remaining
battery life, remaining hard disk recording capacity, and other status indicators,
for the HVR-DR60
directly viewable on the camcorder’s viewfinder and LCD panel. When used
with the HVR-V1U,
the HVR-DR60 can also support tapeless recording. It not only adds a "safety
net" when shooting
critical footage, it also provides an instantaneous archiving method. The unit
mounts as an external
hard drive as well. Files are ready to edit without any capturing necessary.
HDD Smart Protection
Built-in technologies consisting of shock absorbers, the 3G Sensor, and buffered
memory. The shock
absorbers insulate the recording device, displacing any impact the chassis might
experience during
operation. The 3G sensor detects differences in acceleration and orientation
and will momentarily shut
off the recording platters if conditions are too turbulent. When the 3G sensor
is in use, footage is
momentarily recorded to buffered memory until conditions are safe up to 14 seconds.
Universal File Types
The HDV1080i stream is recorded as native HDV files (.M2T), while DV stream
(DVCAM/MiniDV) is recorded as AVI files (.AVI :DV Type1) or as Raw DV . Transfer
video at
apprx. 3x real time (80 Mbps)
No Special Battery Required!
The HVR-DR60 easily attaches to the HVR-V1U camcorder via a supplied shoe adaptor
and short
i.LINK cable, Using Sony’s L series batteries (the same as those used
with the HVR-V1U, HVR-
Z1U,and DSR-PD170), the HVR-DR60 can be operated for up to 4.5 hours using the
NP-F570,
