Versatile
interface capability makes the BR-DV600UA a perfect fit for any professional analog
or digital video system. Superbly engineered, it's the ideal spooling recorder
for a wide range of non-linear editing systems. This
compact, lightweight BR-DV600UA PROFESSIONAL DV recorder/player is not only flexible
enough to connect into virtually any editing system - linear or non-linear - it's
got the performance specs you need to produce high-quality, professional results. Designed
to interface with all the most commonly used professional editing systems, the
BR-DV600UA's IEEE 1394 connectivity enables lossless digital transfers to and
from many non-linear editing systems such as Apple's Final Cut Pro, making it
an excellent choice as an NLE spooler. This versatile unit is also the only DV
machine to feature both component inputs/outputs and an RS-422 interface. Additional
systems flexibility is assured by Y/C component connectors, JVC 12-pin control
connectors, and an optionally available RS-232C interface, allowing you to use
the BR-DV600UA with just about any existing linear editing system - whether it's
analog or digital. This
"UA" version is enhanced from the original "U" model with the addition of a time
code input through a BNC connector on the rear panel. This lets you feed SMPTE
time code to the VTR, locking it to your external source. You can now preserve
the original time code numbers when making dubs from other editing systems, VTRs,
or from house timecode. A "TC Copy" feature has also been added, allowing clone
DV tapes using the IEEE1394 connector. The cloned tape is an exact copy of the
original, preserving audio, video and time code from the source. To
make the most of this high-performance recorder/player, you'll want to team it
up with our GY-DV500U, GY-DV550U or GY-DV700WU Professional DV camcorder. Shoot
high-quality digital footage in the field, then load the MiniDV cassette into
the BR-DV600UA and transfer the video, audio and time code data to the editing
system of your choice. With its ability to convert analog signals to digital,
the BR-DV600UA can be integrated with any existing system and allows for easy
upgrading in the future. From
corporate and educational productions to cable and TV broadcasting, multimedia
and more, the high-quality digital performance, systems flexibility, and wide
range of advanced professional features make the BR-DV600UA right choice for anyone
shooting or editing in DV. BR-DV600UA
FeaturesSystem
flexibility with various interfaces To
enable more versatile system configuration, the BR-DV600U comes with an industry-standard
RS-422 interface. As a feeder in an editing system, this BR-DV600UA can supply
a DV source for editing with various formats. It also comes with a JVC bus interface
compatible with JVC's popular S-VHS edit-desk system. An RS-232C interface is
optionally available. You can control the BR-DV600UA from a personal computer
via either the DV or RS-232C interface. DV
recording on a Mini DV tape Because
it uses the Mini DV format, the BR-DV600UA can offer you all the convenience and
affordability of a consumer system, while providing the same high-quality 4:1:1,
8-bit, 25 Mbps component digital processing as other DV-based systems to give
you the superior recording performance you need for professional applications.
Up to 60 minutes of DV component digital images can be recorded on a single Mini
DV tape, assuring you the high-quality, non-degradable images you need for top
results in post-production. Plus, Mini DV tapes are readily available and inexpensive,
so you can get replacement tapes whenever you need them, wherever you are. High-quality
PCM digital audio To
complement its superior DV pictures, the BR-DV600UA offers outstanding digital
PCM audio. You can choose two 16-bit 48-kHz channels or four 12-bit, 32-kHz channels
with a dynamic range of more than 85 dB. Variety
of video inputs/outputs | The
BR-DV600UA is equipped with an IEEE 1394 (DV) input/output. This allows lossless
digital video and audio transfers to or from any DV equipped device such as a
non-linear editing system or DV recorder. Even timecode numbers are copied through
the IEEE1394, meaning that your copy is a perfect clone of the original tape.
In addition, composite/YC/component and time code inputs/outputs are provided
for various video sources. When feeding external time code, the VTR's TC generator
locks to the external source. | | System

scene finder The
BR-DV600UA features JVC's exclusive new Super Scene Finder. By letting you log
scenes, and mark the ones you want to use, this dramatically speeds up the transfer
process and saves disk space in a non-linear editing system. Log data recorded
on a tape with the GY-DV500U can be spooled onto a non-linear editing system.
Since scene data is written directly onto the Mini DV cassette, expensive cassettes
with memory chips are not required. Up to 134 scenes can be marked per cassette. Compact
and lightweight design With
a width of only 215 mm (8-1/2"), two BR-DV600UAs can be placed side by side in
an EIA standard rack. The BR-DV600UA weighs only 4 kg (8.8 lbs.). AC/DC
operation In
addition to the AC power connector, a DC 12 V connector is provided, allowing
the BR-DV600UA to run in locations where an AC power supply is not available. Other
