All the groundbreaking capabilities of the best-selling AV-HS400 are still there, but we’ve added new features that will make the switcher even more powerful, easier to use, and more fun to sell. The HS400 set a new industry standard for value, quality, and high quality effects. The AV-HS400A extends that lead by incorporating powerful new functions—but it’s still by far the industry’s most affordable switcher with full 10-bit HD processing, built-in MultiViewer, and frame synchronizer capabilities on every input.

The new AV-HS400A adds major new functions to our revolutionary multi-format HD/SD switcher. In addition to the integrated MultiViewer, 3D Effects, 10 Bit full HD Processing, ease-of-use, PiP, and other features that have made the HS400 the best HD/SD switcher value in the world, the HS400A now includes:

•Enhanced MultiViewer Functions w/labeling, border control, preview tally, and more….
  - Easy Labeling of sources—either from a table of common names (e.g. CAM4), or with custom labels up to 6 characters     (such as “PODIUM”)
  - Labels can be adjusted to full white (100%), 75%, 50%, 25%, or black (0%)
     and label background bar can be turned on or off.
  - Adjustable frame border brightness—white, 75%, 50%, 25%, and Off
  - A Green frame outline for Preset Tally in addition to the Red outlined Program Tally
  - Large MultiViewer windows can now display either Aux or Key Out, not just Preview or Program

• Easy Pan-Tilt Camera Control of AW-HE100 and other PT systems (up to five camera in conjunction) from
  the switcher panel—via direct connection, or  through our RP series controllers
   - With RP controllers, camera/input selected via Preview bus is simultaneously selected for control

The multi-format AV-HS400A live switcher is an all-in-one system that easily integrates into existing HD/SD workflows, flawlessly mixing HD and SD video sources. With a built-in MultiViewer image preview, expandable HD/SD architecture, 3D digital effects and a host of other advanced features, the HS400A provides all the functions you need for superb results.

The HS400A's built-in MultiViewer can output 4, 6, or 10 images from different sources to a single high-resolution display, eliminating the need for multiple HD source and preview monitors. For added creative flexibility, the switcher offers a broad selection of wipe patterns including 3-D digital effects and features a high-quality chroma key for applications such as green screen in broadcast and production.

The HS400A's modular architecture comes standard with four HD/SD-SDI inputs and four HD/SDI outputs and can be expanded to support up to 8 inputs and 8 outputs with optional I/O boards. The switcher has a built-in, switchable 10-bit frame synchronizer for each input, for glitch-free switching, even with non-synchronous sources such as Blu-Ray DVD players or remote camera feeds.
